Fenty Beauty ‘Pro Filt’r’ foundation review

I’ve been desperate to try the Fenty Beauty ‘Pro Filt’r’ foundation since its release last year, but since I’m usually pretty bad at guessing my shade online, I decided against it. Luckily for me, I managed to swatch a load of shades when I visited Sephora in Paris at the beginning of the month. Since then, I’ve been testing out the foundation that everyone seems to love and seeing whether it is worth the hype.

I put the Fenty foundation to the ultimate test in 26 degree heat, running around Disneyland Paris like a crazy person for an entire day, to see just how accurate its bold claim of being ‘long wearing’ was. So many times in the past, I have used a “long wearing” foundation, to find it had slid right off my face within a matter of hours but this definitely lived up to my high expectations. While I did have to powder a few times throughout the day, it stayed put, even despite my oily skin.

The foundation is a semi-matte, medium to full coverage finish, but with that being said, you don’t look flat. I found that I had to use barely any concealer to cover up any acne as the foundation was enough coverage to do it itself. It creates an almost blurred effect and even my pores were less visible.

I’ll be honest with you, the first time I wore the foundation, I had applied it at stupid-o’clock in the morning, finished my makeup and rushed out the door, ready for another full day at Disney. I hadn’t really paid too much attention to what it had looked like, so when I looked back on pictures from that morning later in the day, I couldn’t believe how good my base makeup looked. My skin looked pretty flawless if I do say so myself, without looking at all heavy.

While the coverage of the foundation is amazing, you can definitely apply only a little for a really natural look, or build it up, without having to worry that it will look cakey.

A lot of full coverage foundations tend to feel heavy on your skin, but ‘Pro Filt’r’ is so light, you barely feel like you’re wearing foundation at all. It is so comfortable to wear, even in the heat when the last thing you want to do is feel like your face is caked up. My skin still felt like it was able to breathe while looking flawless.

The Fenty Beauty ‘Pro Filt’r’ foundation is potentially my new fave foundation of all time; it’s definitely my new favourite high end foundation. I am just so impressed with the quality of the foundation. It lives up to all of its claims and my high expectations. I can’t wait to try more from the brand.

Have you tried this foundation?

  1. I’ve been on the search for the best foundation. As of now It’s definitely the YSL All hours foundation and the Too Faced Born this way foundation. I’ve been wanting to try this foundation, and will probably buy this one once I finish the Too Faced one. It got so much hype when it came out, and still people are in love with the formula. Great review! xxx
