Marc Jacobs ‘Highliner’ matte gel eye crayon review

In my first ever complimentary Influenster Voxbox, I received two Marc Jacobs ‘Highliner’ matte gel eye crayons and I’m already in love with them. I couldn’t wait to share my thoughts on them with you all.

Eyeliner is a step I usually skip, as I’ve never been good at applying it, yet these eyeliners make it so easy to do a good job at applying it. They are a solid formula yet apply like a gel, meaning they slide on so smoothly and easily.

That being said, when I first swatched the ‘Highliner’ eye crayons, I expected them to smudge easily. I was shocked (to say the least) when I tried to rub the product off the back of my hand and found that they did. not. budge. Not even a little bit. In fact, I even struggled to remove the eyeliner with a good cleanser. They staying power is literally incredible.

The shades I was gifted were ‘Deja Blue’, an extremely light blue, almost white, and ‘Earthquake’, a deep brown shade. Recently, I’ve been wearing ‘Deja Blue’ in my waterline to make my eyes appear my open and ‘Earthquake’ smoked out across my lash line.

Although I’ve been creating quite a natural look with these eyeliners, there’s no stopping you going for a bolder makeup look, especially with some of the brighter colours from the range.

Since the ‘Highliner’ matte gel eye crayons are the first beauty products I have tried from Marc Jacobs, they have only made me even more eager to try more.
