Winter skincare routine

I’ve really been trying to get back into using a proper skin care routine this winter and have switched up quite a few of the products I usually use. While my skin is starting to look a lot clearer, I’ve also discovered some new products that I really love and can see me continuing to use into 2018.

I have loved the Liz Earle ‘Cleanse and Polish’ hot cloth cleanser for the longest time now and usually use it every morning and twice on a night, to double cleanse. I’m currently running low and couldn’t justify buying another lot, since I usually get some for Christmas, so I decided to try out the Garnier ‘Micellar gel face wash’ for combination skin. I’ve always been a fan of the ‘Micellar water’ by Garnier and so far, I’m impressed by this product too. It effortlessly removes my makeup and leaves my skin mattified.

I’m currently using the rest of my Liz Earle ‘Cleanse and Polish’ as a second cleanser after the ‘Micellar gel’ as I love the way it leaves my skin feeling.

After cleansing, I continue by using the Simple ‘kind to skin pore minimising’ facial toner. This is another product I’ve been using for a while now and cannot fault. Simple are a really affordable skincare brand that I genuinely trust on my sensitive skin. I couldn’t recommend their products any more.

I currently have two moisturisers that I love using and I think are perfect for winter. On a morning, I use the Garnier ‘Moisture bomb 3 in 1’ day cream and the ‘Moisture bomb night’ moisturiser before bed. Although I have oily skin, I feel like I really need a hydrating moisturiser during the winter months as my skin usually looks dull. Both of these are perfect for that.

Don’t get me wrong, my skin certainly is not perfect and I usually find myself getting the odd blemish from time to time. To try and combat this, I use face masks roughly two times a week, as well as using sudocrem directly on any spots. The face masks I currently enjoy using are the individual use masks from ‘Ooharr’ and the Garnier ‘3 in 1 pure active’ mask.

My absolute essential skin care product at the minute is the cocoa butter Vaseline lip balm. My lips get so chapped during the colder months but this is well and truly saving them and keeping them nice and soft. I find myself constantly applying this as I’m so addicted to the smell.
