Urban Decay’s newest release, the ‘Naked Heat’ palette is inarguably the hottest and most hyped about palette of 2017, yet I had been so reluctant to buy it for myself after falling completely out of love with my ‘Naked 2’ palette (which had once been my absolute fave). Despite this, my attempt at resistance was cut short upon swatching a few of the shades and falling completely in love with the palette, it could not have been more suited to be!
The main reason I wasn’t planning on purchasing the palette was due to the lack of vibrant shades in the palette, since I’ve definitely become a lot more confident in terms of eyeshadow more recently. Although I would have loved nothing more than a bright orange in this palette, there’s no denying you can create so many bold looks with the shadows provided. Some of my fave shades from the palette are ‘Lumbre’ (the most beautiful orange toned pink with gold glitter), ‘Dirty Talk’ and ‘Scorched’ which are all beautiful shimmery shades. Though I haven’t been brave enough to wear it as of yet, ‘Ember’ is the most stunning bronze shade I have ever seen.
‘Naked Heat’ also has a great selection of matte shades, which is what I felt my ‘Naked 2’ palette was seriously lacking, making it hard to travel with as I couldn’t create many looks; ‘He Devil’ and ‘Cayenne’ are my most used mattes as they fall into the burnt orange/red toned nude shadows that I adore. For this reason, this palette is super travel friendly, even more so with ‘Ounce’ being the perfect brown bone highlight.
Urban Decay have seriously upped their game with the pigmentation of the shadows for this palette. All of the shadows, specifically the shimmery ones, are amazingly pigmented, another thing that I had found disappointed me with my N2 palette after experimenting with other eyeshadows and comparing them. Another issue I has with my previously loved ‘Naked 2’ was that the mirror was terrible, but this is something UD have clearly improved on. The huge mirror, paired with the absolutely stunning packaging gives the palette it’s luxury feel.
I’m having so much fun experimenting with the ‘Naked Heat’ palette, Urban Decay couldn’t have created a palette so ‘me’! Right now, this is definitely my go-to palette and a firm fave in my collection. Next time Urban Decay release a palette, I definitely won’t be as reluctant to give it a go as ‘Naked Heat’ has certainly restored my faith in Urban Decay eyeshadows.
