Although there’s no stopping my love for my trusty Collection ‘lasting perfection’ concealer, I’ve been fancying something a bit more brightening for a while now, to use under my eyes. Since the ‘Naked Skin’ concealer has been on my makeup wish list for a while now, I couldn’t resist picking it up while at my nearest Urban Decay counter.
My initial impressions of this concealer could not have been better. I always like a high coverage concealer for under my eyes to cover up those under eye bags. This product does this perfectly, while looking completely natural, I guess that’s where it got its name from. Because I chose a lighter shade, this concealer really brightens my under eyes and helps me fake that “I’ve had eight hours sleep” look.
Due to it being such full coverage, this concealer covers up blemishes absolutely perfectly, also helping me fake that “I drink eight glasses of water a day” look too. However, I do have to mix with a small amount of foundation if using in this way, otherwise it highlights my spots, therefore drawing more attention to them (not a good look). I’ll definitely have to pick up the concealer in my perfect skin shade so I can use it in both ways, without the hassle.
The performance of this concealer also took me by surprise. I was expecting it to crease under my eyes, like most concealers do after a while, but despite settling into a few fine lines, it looked pretty great. Even better, it stayed that way all day. Yes, that’s right, the concealer actually lasted on me ALL DAY! Even my trusty Collection concealer doesn’t seem to stay for the entire day.
It’s worth mentioning that the packaging of this product is also stunning, as you’d expect for a concealer costing £19. I love the simple yet classy look of the glass contrasted with the silver detailing.
So, is it worth the money? Despite costing four hours worth of my wages, I absolutely love this concealer and couldn’t recommend it more! Because it is such a full coverage product, you don’t need to use too much of it and therefore you won’t have to repurchase for a while. If you’re on a budget, the Collection ‘lasting perfection’ is always a good alternative but if you’re looking for a new, high end concealer to add to our collection, this is definitely a one you need to try out.
