MAC Lightscapade review

Ever since I began to really get into makeup and beauty, I have been desperate to try out MAC’s mineralised skin finishes, however was reluctant to purchase them for myself due to the rather expensive price tag. After receiving a MAC gift voucher for Christmas, I decided my makeup collection had gone too long without a MAC highlighter in it.

Despite falling in love with the cult favourite ‘Soft and Gentle’, my beloved ‘Mary Lou’ is extremely similar and I didn’t want two duplicates in my collection. Instead, I went for the equally loved ‘Lightscapade’ mineralised skin finish.

MAC describe this as a ‘soft candlelit beige with multidimensional shimmer’. Before now, I did not own a highlighter like this and I was also eager to see how MAC’s highlighters compare to others I own, since I am always impressed with the quality of their products. ‘Lightscapade’ provides a buildable glow, a perfect cool toned shimmer for those of you with paler skin tones like myself. To make it an even more intense highlight, a bit of setting spray does the trick.

Before purchasing, I had read other reviews stating that this product doesn’t last too long (which is surprising due to the £24 price tag). Although I found that ‘Lightscapade’ doesn’t last all day on me, it does last a lot longer than most highlighters on my oily skin.

Like most MAC products, their mineralised skin finishes come enclosed in a classy black pan, which I have found to be super sturdy (a definite plus to this product as I can be extra clumsy on my really bad days).

Overall, I am so impressed with ‘Lightscapade’, it may have ever over took Mary Lou on my most loved highlighting powders. I can’t wait to *hopefully* try more from the 5 shades they sell in the future. Thank you for reading this post. Make sure you’re always caught up by following my blog, my twitter and Instagram.
