Winter Essentials | 2016

Since winter is right around the corner, I decided to share with you a few of my essentials for the magical season and some things that winter just would not be the same without, in my eyes. Winter is one of my most favourite times of year and i always get so excited when it is almost here.

Jumpers galore

Oh, how I missed wearing my chunky knitted jumpers throughout the summer. There’s just something so comforting about wearing a huge jumper; it feels like it’s giving you a hug. This year I found my perfect winter, knitted jumper in H&M and had to restrain myself from buying it in every single colour available (believe me there was a lot of colour choices!) Instead, I picked it up in a stunning burgundy shade and also beige but who’s to say I won’t be back again next week buying even more?

Costa hot chocolates

This year Costa have absolutely outdone themselves with their Christmas range particularly their hot chocolates. My first visit since the Christmas range release left me with a difficult decision of which to try first. I was also delighted to see they brought back a favourite of mine from last year – the black forest hot chocolate. So far, the ‘Toasted Marshmallow’ and ‘Chocolate Orange’ hot chocolates have been big hits with me this year and I can’t wait to try the rest.

Christmas albums (or an entire playlist)

My absolute favourite Christmas album has to be Michael Bublé’s ‘Christmas’ and I can’t deny listening to it way back in September (too early? Never!) However, when it comes to Christmas music, I love it no matter what shape or form it comes in. As long as it’s super festive and nostalgic you can guarantee I’ll be listening to it nonstop right up until the big day and maybe even for days after.

Lush Christmas bath bombs

You can bet I’ll be spending one too many evenings this winter in the bath surrounded by Lush Christmas goodness. Their Christmas range this year is simply incredible, bringing back some old classics and introducing a few new favourites. Although I adore Lush 365 days a year and will always make an excuse for a bath bomb, there’s just something about their Christmas range that makes winter a million times better.

Fairy lights

You can also guarantee that this winter my room will be strung with even more fairy lights than usual to get me even more in the festive spirit than I currently am.

Red everything

Red lipstick, check. Red nail polish, check. Red jumpers, check. What better excuse is there to wear red everything than the approach to Christmas? I finally have good reason to put my excessive amount of red lipsticks to good use.

Christmas jumpers

As well as your average chunky knit, you simply cannot survive winter without a Christmas themed jumper. Whether subtle or tacky, it is an absolute essential! Last year, I had my Christmas jumper at the ready on 1st December and can’t wait to invest in more this year.

Hand cream

The bitter months can leave your hands feeling rather rough due to the constant freezing temperatures in the UK so having multiple hand creams everywhere I could possibly need them is an essential for me. You’ll find hand creams in my bag, on my desk, beside my bed, even in my locker at work. You can’t be too careful, right? My current, personal favourites are the Soap and Glory ‘Hand Food’ and Zoella Beauty ‘Hungry Hands’.
