Olly Murs is potentially one of the most likeable people that the UK has ever produced, both celebrity and general human wise, so who would ever turn down the likely opportunity to meet him for FREE, certainly not me that’s for sure! Even if it was just a quick selfie opportunity and “hi bye” type meet, it absolutely made my week and is certainly a day I won’t forget any time soon.
Mr Murs made a short but sweet visit to the North East as part of his UK radio tour to promote his newest single “You Don’t Know Love” and give fans the opportunity to meet him along the way. We made our way to the radio station, Sun FM, early to avoid rush hour traffic and ensure we were there ready and waiting for Olly to arrive. Although we were waiting a little longer than expected, Olly certainly was worth waiting for and since the rain just about held off we didn’t mind at all.
Olly arrived in his “You Don’t Know Love” artwork themed tour bus and was greeted by a swarm of eager and enthusiastic fans, who couldn’t wait to see the star that rose to fame on The X Factor in 2009. He immediately strutted up the make-shift red carpet and into the radio station for his interview. After another short wait, fans were able to meet Olly and have selfies taken with him. No one wanted to miss out and the excitement was certainly flying high in the queue.
Now where do I even start?! As I have previously said in other blog posts, I must say after meeting every celebrity I have ever met “they’re so lovely!”, “they’re so genuine!”, “they’re so down to earth!” and Olly is absolutely no exception (so I’ll spare you having to roll your eyes about me once again repeating myself)! He came across the like the same cheeky chappy you see on your TV screens and takes a very good selfie I must admit! It only took him to smile, say “y’alright dahlin” and kiss my cheek and I was ready to fall to the floor on the spot (no exaggeration, my legs were literally shaking). The entire journey home, as I was devouring my McDonald’s, and night while typing up this post, all I could think was “wow isn’t he unreal” and “he actually was so lovely” while smiling away to myself like an idiot. Since I have loved pretty much everything Olly has released since he made his debut, it really was amazing to meet him.
As for the single, Olly’s only gone and done it again hasn’t he! It’s certainly another catchy one that I can imagine is going to be stuck in a lot of people’s heads after hearing it on the radio. If you’re a fan of his other material, you’ll definitely love this one too. Hopefully this single will be the first of many from an upcoming album from Olly, which I suspect can’t be too far away.
Make sure you check out Olly’s new single “You Don’t Know Love” on iTunes NOW! As always, thank you so much for reading. This post is not sponsored or influenced in any way and is my own opinions only. Make sure you’re always caught up by following my blog, my twitter and Instagram.
