What I got for my 17th Birthday

This year once again I was super lucky and received so many wonderful gifts for my 17th Birthday and I am so grateful for every single one of them! I decided to do this post, much like many other bloggers do after their Birthdays, and share with you just a selection of the amazing presents I received from friends, family and the few presents to myself – from myself.

One of my main presents this year was a new phone. As my old phone was pretty much falling apart and battered to death, earlier in the year my parents kindly bought me a brand new, silver, sparkling iPhone 6s for my Birthday. I am absolutely in love with my phone and I’m determined to keep this one safe and free from damage (although I seem to have already scratched my protective glass several times in less than two months). I’ve already bought the most stunning phone case for it too and I couldn’t be more in love with it.

Another of my main presents this year is my driving lessons. Although I am so terrified to begin lessons, I am so excited to (hopefully) pass my tests and eventually feel confident driving, as it will mean I won’t have to rely on the North East’s horrendous public transport as often and can hopefully also travel further afield.

Over the past few weeks I have spent rather a little bit too much money and using the excuse “it’s a Birthday present” and I have bought A LOT! Perhaps one of my favourite things that I have bought is my new Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24HR foundation which I have absolutely fell in love with. There’s a full review of the product coming later on in the week so stay tuned for that. After having it on my makeup wish list for God-knows-how-long, I FINALLY caved and bought Benefit’s Hoola bronzer. I am so excited to begin using this product and hopefully I will love it just as much as I have hoped to.

Other makeup/beauty bits I picked up as Birthday presents to myself from myself are MAC ‘Please Me’ lipstick, MAC ‘Lady Be Good’ liquid lipstick, Urban Decay’s ‘de-slick’ makeup setting spray, Maybelline ‘Lash Sensational’ mascara, Soap and Glory’s ‘Supercat’ liquid eyeliner, a selection of the products from the new Zoella Beauty ‘Sweet Inspirations’ range and the NYX ‘slide on, glide on, stay on and definitely a turn on’ lip liner in the shade bedrose (I hope the product lasts as long as its name takes to say).

My incredible friends were also incredibly generous and bought me so many wonderful things, so many that I may forget to mention some! I received: a hell of a lot of sweets and chocolate (and believe it or not by the time I am writing this they are all already gone), a ‘lol ur not Dylan O’Brien’ t-shirt which could potentially be my new favourite slogan tee, a few fragrances and shower gels, a MAC lipstick in the shade ‘On Hold’, an adorable Minnie Mouse mug and uncountable amounts of Lush bath bombs and bubble bars – I don’t think I’ll have to pop into a Lush store anytime soon. There were also several inside joke presents thrown in there too which caused a few laughs.

Being the wonderful people that they are, my family also were so kind and got me so many little bits and bobs and money which I am so grateful for.

As much as I would love to go into detail about every single present and say how much I appreciate each one, this post would be ten times longer than it already is and I’m pretty sure no one would survive until the end. Apologies for how belated this post is and how random and unsystematic my posts have been recently due to my busy exam schedule. Now they are all finished I will hopefully get back into posting regularly. Make sure you’re always caught up by following my blog, my twitter and Instagram.
