If you’re into high end beauty and read/watch a lot of beauty bloggers, I’m sure there’s no doubt you’ve already heard the massive hype surrounding Benefit’s Porefessional primer. Taking advantage of the discount during the Black Friday sales back in November, I decided to give it a go myself and now after testing and trialling it for a few months, I decided I’d report back to say whether I believe it is worth the money.
Primers have always been a tricky subject for me, due to my oily skin, and it is very rare that I find one that actually keeps my makeup on all day, as well as control the size of my pores and stop me from looking so oily. Last year I discovered The Body Shop’s ‘Instablur’ primer and found that to work wonders; however, I wanted to try something different to see if that was truly the only primer for me or if others worked just as well.
Much like most Benefit products, the packaging of this product is stunning. Packaging is an important factor for me, it needs to look good to grab my attention. Benefit certainly didn’t let me down on this one. The packaging of Porefessional set high expectations for the product itself.
Smoothly sinking into the skin, evening out and filling pores, leaving an almost perfect finish to your face, ‘Porefessional’ certainly didn’t disappoint me either. I find that this primer minimalizes the size of my pores, transforming my makeup massively. It also contributes to the longevity of my makeup. It’s not often that I fall so in love with any old primer as they often don’t work well on my skin but ‘Porefessional’ isn’t just ‘any old primer’.
Although it may be almost twice the price of other drugstore primers, Benefit’s ‘Porefessional’ provides a professional finish to your makeup. I 100% believe it is worth the high end price and can see myself repurchasing it in the future, however I don’t think it has taken over my love for ‘Instablur’ just yet.
Benefit’s ‘Porefessional’ primer retails at £24.50. This blog post is my own opinions only and was not sponsored by Benefit in any way. Make sure you’re always caught up by following my blog, my twitter and Instagram.
