What I got for Christmas

First things first, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, however you spent the day, and received some lovely gifts. This year I received some amazing presents and certainly was not disappointed at all. Although I am grateful for everything that I received, I thought I’d share with you some of my most favourite presents.

This year, my main present was a new laptop. I have had my old laptop for quite a few years now and it is pretty much falling apart and takes so long to load! I know I’m going to get so much use out of this due to all of my college work and writing a lot more blog posts.

I also received a mountain of DVDs, some of which are my favourite films of throughout the year. There’s nothing that I love more than cosying up in bed and putting a DVD on; these are enough to keep me going for long enough.

Another incredible present which will also keep me going for a long time is my Soap and Glory limited edition ‘It’s The Whole She-bang’ gift set. The Soap and Glory gift sets that are released around this time of year are always such great value for money and this one is no exception. In this set there is some of the Soap and Glory classics such as ‘The Righteous butter’ body butter, ‘Hand Maid’ hand cream and also the ‘Thick and Fast’ mascara. The gift set that I received last year has lasted me so long, there are still some of the products that aren’t quite empty yet.

Over the course of the past year I have been learning more about makeup and experimenting with different brands more than I had in the previous year. I was completely over the moon when I received the Too Faced ‘Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar’ palette. After hearing so many good reviews on this palette was dying to get my hands on one. The shades of the shadows are just utterly stunning, there is a good variety of matte and shimmery colours and I can see myself getting good use out of all of them. Keep an eye out for a review on this palette in the New Year.

I also received a few items from MAC which I have had my eye on for quite some time now. ‘Velvet Teddy’ is probably one of MAC’s most famous lipsticks and it felt wrong not having it in my collection to see what all of the hype is about. I also wanted to try a more adventurous and bolder MAC lipstick as all of the ones I own are quite neutral, ‘impassioned’ is such a beautiful lipstick colour which I was so happy to get my hands on. It will be perfect for during the summer. I don’t own many MAC lip liners but the ones I do own, I adore. I use lipsticks similar to the shade ‘soar’ all the time so I was so happy to be able to add this to my makeup collection. The only powder blush that I own by MAC is ‘Harmony’ and it is probably one of my favourite items of makeup that I have ever owned. I really wanted to try another blush by MAC and I received one in the shade ‘desert rose’ which suits my skin tone so much. I’m planning on doing a MAC collection blog post in the New Year so keep an eye out for that.

If you’re a regular reader of my blog you’ll know I absolutely adore LUSH and this is also no surprise to my family too, as I seemed to receive an absolute mountain of bath bombs and bubble bars. All of the items I received are from the Christmas collection, most of which I have previously tried and loved. This collection I have built up should last me a while so I don’t think LUSH will be seeing me in store any time soon.

Another gift I received was the Daisy by Marc Jacobs mini perfume and refill set. I received this as a gift last year and although it is small, it has lasted me almost all year. Daisy is my most favourite perfume and this mini set means I can take it almost everywhere with me, due to its convenient size.
