Maybelline ‘color drama’ lip pencils

As you may have noticed by now, I’m a massive fan of Maybelline as a brand and I’m always impressed by their products, especially the high quality of them for such a cheap price. I purchased one of their ‘color drama’ lip pencils for one of my friends, as a birthday present, yet found myself back in Superdrug just weeks later, purchasing one for myself. Since then I fell in love with everything about mine and couldn’t help picking up a few more.

These lip pencils are quite matte yet creamy on the lips and give a velvety finish. They aren’t at all drying and last so long. These lip pencils are amazing quality for their price. Some other beauty bloggers and YouTubers have even said they are high competition for NARS ‘velvet matte lip pencils’ which are four times the price of the Maybelline ones.

The first colour that I originally picked up was ‘nude perfection’ as I didn’t have a plain nude lip product in my collection. This is absolutely perfect if you want to get that kind of ‘Kylie Jenner’ lip colour, without splashing out and buying something like MAC’s ‘velvet teddy’ which is a lot more expensive.

After completely falling in love with the formula and high quality of the first edition to my collection, I decided to buy a brighter, bolder colour for my summer holiday last year. ‘Fuchsia Desire’ was such a perfect colour for the idea I was going for.

If you have read my “Winter Beauty Essentials” blog post, you’ll know I believe a berry toned lipstick is a staple in my winter makeup routine. After searching through other shades I could add to my collection, I found that ‘Berry Much’ was the perfect winter shade and I just had to have it in my collection!

I would love to see Maybelline introduce more colours to the range of ‘color drama’ lip pencil range, at the minute I believe there is only around ten shades. I completely recommend these lip pencils, especially those starting out with makeup.

This blog post is my own opinions only and was not sponsored by Maybelline in anyway. Make sure you’re always caught up by following my blog, twitter and instagram.
